All about Jordan

I have done a lot of posting following Taylor through her month to month development and capturing our adventures as a family of four, but I realized I hadn't taken a moment to jot down a little bit about what Jordan is saying and doing these days.

I just walked out of her room as she sang with me for bedtime: "Go to sleep, little girl. Go to sleep, little Jordan. Close your eyes and shut them tight. Go to sleepytown tonight." Sometimes she sings "Go to sleep, little mommy" then pats me on the back and kisses me on my forehead saying "night night Mommy, I love you". It is moments like this that made me think that I better write something down before I can't hold onto these memories.

I find it so ironic how much Jordan loves to play "night night" considering what an awful time she has actually going to bed at night. She loves to have us lay down on the couch, cover us up, spend 3 minutes making sure the blanket is "juuuuusstt perfect", and pat us. Then yell "Wake up Mommy/Daddy!!!". As much as I would like to forget the trouble she has going to sleep, I am pretty sure this is one memory that will stay with me forever. She is on go all the time...100 miles an hour from the second she wakes up until she finally falls asleep. Besides the fact that I would love for her to just GO TO SLEEP, I do love this little personality of hers.

When we put Taylor down, she has started to remind me to say our prayers, so she folds her hands, bows her head, closes her eyes and waits for me to say "In Jesus name" so she can proclaim "A-MEN"! Also, hearing her sing "Jesus loves me" with me when we put Taylor down melts my heart!

Jordan is such a creature of habit around the house. She loves to stand on her stool and ask "Whatchu doin' Mommy/Daddy". She loves top help daddy cook and eat anything on the counter she can reach from her stool.

Her language has really exploded and she is just learning as much as she can every day.
I love how she always says everything in the form of a question. "Mommy, you put on yooouuuurrr shoes?" "Daddy, have shoes on so he can go outside?". It's a little sing-song kind of tune that I wish I could truly capture. She also sometimes talks out of the side of her month and kind of winks one eye when she says things like "I don't know" or "No, that's ok". I really have to try to get this on camera...it kills me every time!

I am most proud of the amazing and sweet big sister Jordan has been to Taylor. Watching her love on her, play with her and try to make her laugh just melts my heart. This isn't the best picture, but Jordan wouldn't stop kissing Taylor, she was cracking us up. She doesn't always hug Taylor very gently, but Tay's pretty tough. Also, Jordan may or may not still be begging to wear her Christmas pajamas in March.

Jordan loves her accessories:

She has always been such a daddy's girl and explodes with excitement every time he walks in the door. Love this sweet picture of her helping her daddy to his radio interview after this basketball season.

I'm sure it's hard to tell when they're 2, but I think we may have a little athlete on our hands. She loves to play basketball "Just like daddy, does?" and this girl LOVES her gymnastics. I cannot get enough of watching her jump on the trampoline and her little stretches that they do. She has such a look of pure joy on her face every time.

We also started swimming lessons and she loves it! This girl is growing up way too fast!

This girl is such a ham. She won't take a picture if she doesn't want to, but now asks me to take pictures of her and then says "lemme see...oh, is cute, mommy!!"

Don't even ask...but this picture had to be documented somewhere!
"I love flowers. Let me go find some"

I'm aware that this picture is completely blurry, but to me...this is Jordan. I heard someone use the words "delightfully chaotic", and I am totally stealing it for Jordan. She is the sweetest spirit and has more energy than any of us know what to do with. Her face is so full of expression all the time! You always know exactly what she is feeling or thinking. I love this blurry picture of her and her pure excitement and joy as she was playing with this curtain. This girl is everything!

Easter 2016

We had such a fun and busy Easter this year. The girls started off the holiday with their Easter party and egg hunts at school.

 Taylor's first Easter party

I pulled out our Easter books and Jordan was so excited to read them.

We took Jordan to the Easter egg hunt and party at church for the first time when we were 8 months pregnant with Taylor. They're still so little, but we're enjoying starting these little family traditions with our girls. We don't ever remember our good camera, so actually tried to get some good pictures. Warning, lots of pictures below:

Love capturing her looking at her big sister.
Happy 1st Easter Taylor girl!

Ready for her Easter egg  hunt
Jordan waiting her turn to hunt eggs. Where's Taylor? Oh...there she is! Never misses a camera moment.

Mommy's girl

Easter morning we found out what the Easter bunny brought us. Jordan kept twirling around reminding us that her and Taylor were twins and and that she was wearing her Easter dress. "Easter is about Jesus".

Happy Easter little girls. We cannot wait to share this wonderful holiday with you every year and teach you more and more about what it means. Our prayers are that one day you will fully know and understand why we celebrate Easter and that Jesus was born, died and was raised for each of you Jordan and Taylor. That you are so loved by God and that you will be "all-in" for Him in everything you.

Taylor 10 Months

This blog is a bit late considering Taylor turned 10 months old on February 29th. Taylor is about 21 lb 6 oz and is growing so fast! She wasn't feeling so well on her 10 month birthday as you can tell by her runny nose! But we still got a few sweet smiles.

Taylor has such a sweet disposition that I am not sure I can capture in words. She is a light every day in the way she looks up at us with those big blue eyes. She has started to give kisses, clap, stand up, cruise around the furniture and starting to find her sweet little voice. We love you Taylor girl!

Taylor loves to clap when she wants "more" or when she is laughing and excited about watching Jordan play.

Taylor girl loves to be outside! Whether she gets to play at school or go to the neighborhood park and play with sister, she lights up when she's outside.

I love when Taylor gets to go to gymnastics with us. She just jumps right in and starts trying to be just like big sister. Please note Jordan's face in the picture on the left! They were playing under the parachute.

More sister time! I know Jordan's blurry, but love Tay's face!

Getting so close to them being able to play together by themselves. Jordan is so sweet to her baby sister and wants to show her everything.

This is just one of those sweet pictures I wanted to keep to remind myself what it feels like when she lays her head down on my shoulder at bedtime, or just when she wants a snuggle. She is definitely my snuggler and will sit with you and lay her head down on you just to give you "hugs".

  Sweetness during bathtime!

February is ALL about basketball season! This first picture is a little bit of real life at a late night game. Jordan is screaming because she wants more goldfish and Taylor just flat out fell asleep right in the middle of a loud gym. This picture says so much about our stage in life right now!
But most of the time, we have sweet moments with daddy's littlest Bearkat fans.

Taylor, your face and your smile just lights up a room! You have an infectious laugh and a captivating little spirit. I love watching you learn how to play and your pure determination when you want to play with something just out of your reach. I cannot wait to watch you grow into the little person you will be.

Then, all of a sudden, this girl just started standing all by herself! She is getting too big on me too fast. I'm trying to capture all her little "baby" moments, but she is going to become this little girl right before my eyes. Slow down sweet Taylor!
