August is probably our favorite month as a family; recruiting is over, no college kids are on campus to watch over and we get to plan on one week of vacation months in advance. We missed our vacation week last year since Jordan was only a month old. We were so happy to be able to take Jordan on a vacation to Carmel, CA and even better that we had family there to help us watch and play with Jordan plus cousins/playmates that Jordan adores.
Like most parents traveling with a one year old, we were pretty nervous before Jordan's first flight. It happened to be exactly during her nap time, so we thought we would have perfect timing and she would take a good nap on the plane, which she did....we just didn't take off during that time. The four hour delay set our plans back just a little bit, but overall Jordan did great. During the delay, this girl was up and down the aisles meeting (smiling) at every person who would look at her. We also took a visit to the cockpit. Apparently when you have a baby you're trying to entertain you can do whatever you want.
Once we finally got to Carmel we had dinner at the house and got settled. The Wilson crew got there the next afternoon and we attempted to take everyone out to dinner. There is so much that is great about this picture; Barrett's "selfie" face, Payton crying, Parker just chillin, and Jordan looking at me like "Mommy, what is all this craziness around me". My favorite of all, could be that all 4 parents are just smiling like this is a totally normal moment. HA! I love these guys!
Hanging out by the fire with Daddy

Check out this girl's belly. This was after she ate spaghetti for 30 solid minutes barely breathing to look up and use her "more" sign. Her sign for "more" isn't quite the correct sign language, but close enough for us. She uses her right pointer finger and points to the palm of her left hand. Everyone else might not find this funny, but Chris and I felt it worthy to mention so we wouldn't forget!

We left all the littles for the morning and had brunch out at Mission Ranch with Alli & Matt and Kyle & Irene. (Before Irene knew she'd be agreeing to join this crazy family the next day)
The Monterrey Bay Aquarium was another first for Jordan. I'm not sure if she liked looking at all the animals or the people more, but all in all I think she had a good time checking everything out. She pointed at everything and said "da". I wish I knew what she was really thinking!

The beach was cold and windy, but we had to go down to show Jordan the Pacific Ocean.

I tried to put Jordan's feet in the Pacific Ocean and got attacked by the very cold water that came up higher than I was expecting.

The whole crew took a trip to Pebble Beach to check out the course and the views from the clubhouse! It's not an easy feat to get pictures for kids under 3, but this is the best we could do. Check out the little photo bomber in the background of the picture of Jordan and us. Ha! Barrett and his run make us laugh every time, I'm glad it made the picture!

While the girls went to the spa, the boys took a quick trip to a friend's family member's house out overlooking the water. They said it was quite spectacular. Even though the pictures look awesome too, I'm sure it doesn't do the view justice.
Love this one with Jordan sitting with her Daddy on the porch. If you can see her face she is smiling for the camera!

Love this one of our little model!

This girl napped and slept like a champ the whole week. I think playing with her cousins and visiting California wore her out. Even when she woke up from her nap she wasn't quite ready to get up.

We also went out alone to continue the August celebrations with our 3 year wedding annviversary.

Daddy always on duty; texting players and holding Monkey

Always a challenge to get a picture of 4 little ones. These are the best shots we could get!

More pictures we love from our family adventure week in Carmel.
