Growing up Jordan

It's amazing to me how quickly Jordan changed after her first birthday. She really is becoming a little girl and losing that "baby" look every day. As hard as it is to accept that she won't be our baby forever, it is so fun to watch her grow.

Love this sweet face! We have almost given up with the headbands, because this is how they normally end up.

So we started working on wearing our big girl bows that she can't pull off her head! She looks like such a big girl here.

Jordan took a trip with Daddy to Austin while Mommy took a girl's trip to New York for the weekend! She had a great weekend hanging out with Nani.

And going to the park with Grandpapa and Oma.

And just playing around with new toys and new friends! I normally would not willingly put anything Longhorn on here, but this face is priceless. Anytime you take something away and say, "Where'd it go?" She puts her hands like this and looks confused.

Now it was Daddy's turn to be gone for work, so Jordan and Mommy had some girl-time. Both pictures were while I was trying to pick up Jordan's room. She had other ideas! Little stinker.

She has been standing on her own more and more and is really starting to want to take off running around the house. She's getting so close!

While Daddy was out of town, we took a trip to Fort Worth to hang out with our cousins! She was watching everything Barrett did and thought he was hilarious. They're starting to play together, which is adorable. He wanted to have a snack with Jordan at his picnic table.

We made it back to play class this week after a few weeks off and nobody was more excited than Jordan. I wish I could video her face the entire time she's there because it is priceless. She's smiling from ear to ear the entire time, but especially when they sing Gymbo!

We had a lot of Mommy/Jordan time this month, so lots of these pictures that got sent to Daddy. I am going to cherish these times when she thinks I'm funny.

This is when she looks like such a big girl to me. Eating her breakfast in whole pieces, standing on her stool waiting to brush her teeth, standing on her tip toes trying to see what's in the box, and sitting in her chair "reading" a book!

But then I remember that she is still such a little baby! I am trying to mentally capture so many moments with her that I'm getting overwhelmed thinking I may forget this stage. This little girl is such a light and makes us laugh every single day. It is so fun to already watch the little personality develop. Some good. Some bad. We may be in trouble!

Dressed in Red, White and Blue with Daddy for the USA World Cup match.

Things we don't want to forget:
- She climbs over the love sac, pull Daddy's books off the shelf and reads. Every time it is Coack K or Tony Dungy coaching book. Trying to keep up with Dad already

- The way she picks up everything and hands it to you, then wants it back...and hands it to you again. She even hands you stuff that is not in her hands, just puts her fingers together and gives it to you.

- She also wants to feed you her food if you'll let her
- She always has food in her hair after she eats. Right behind her right ear. For some reason this is where she puts her hand while she's chewing.
-That giggle!
- The way she squints at you randomly.
- Working on our language. Says "Up", "Da da da da da", "puppy" (kinda), "ball"
-When she can't talk, she signs. Has learned "more", "mi

Jordan's First Steps

Jordan took a few steps prior to her first birthday, but we could never catch them on camera. As soon as we would pull out the phone she would sit down and smile. We were finally able to get her cute little steps on camera on June 30. She's working more and more every day on standing all by herself and taking little steps as she uses her tongue to balance!

Jordan will never forgive us that we couldn't document her first steps while she had pants on. You can see her little bandaids on her legs where she just received her one year shots. We never put her pants back on after the doctor's office and when we got home she was ready to show off her new moves for the camera. I love the way she pushes Chris' hand out of the way like, "Ok, Dad! I got this!"

We are about to be in big trouble once she starts toddling all over the house. She is so curious about everything that I have a feeling we will have to hide anything she can reach.

First Birthday Party

We had so much fun celebrating Jordan's first birthday at her very first party! (We celebrated Chris turning 30 too, but didn't take many pictures of the black and white polka dots on the other side)
We had so many loved ones come to celebrate with us from all parts of Jordan's life. Chris and I had each of our families there from out of town, high school friends, college friends and our sweet friends from church that have only known us for a short time (compared to the others), but are such a huge part of Jordan's life so far!

Aunts and Uncles (Uncles tend to avoid pictures)

Great-grandma

Grandparents

Cousins

And so many other friends and family members that helped spoil this girl on her big day!

And then there was cake! We assumed Jordan would enjoy her sweets given what a little chunk she has been the last year, but we didn't anticipate her only eating the icing off the top of the cake. She was very focused on eating it though, so that sounds about right.

We also accidentally put her candle too close and she stuck her hand right on the flame. We're GREAT parents...don't you worry!

Little mess of an icing face, we love you more than anything! Hope you had a great time at your first birthday party!!
