Jordan: 7 Months Old

On January 27, 2014, Jordan turned 7 months old. She has stayed around the 87% for weight so she has not been growing nearly as fast as she did the first few months. She is still a little chunk and I really wouldn't have it any other way. Her cheeks and rolls really are precious.

We introduced solid foods this month. I don't think any of us were surprised to find out how much this girl loves something with some flavor. I love how intense she is about her food...definitely our little girl! She loves to grab the spoon and help pull the food into her mouth. Sometimes Daddy let's Jordan lead the spoon on her own, and this is the result. Nothing better than this sweet potato face!  I tried to upload a video, but I have been unsuccessful. This face will have to do! :)
She has entered a new stage of exploration as she is now scooting towards anything she wants to put inside her mouth. Toys, toes, chairs, books, clothes and blankets, pretty much nothing is off limits for her now that she is semi-mobile. She is getting up on her knees and rocking back and forth ready to take off crawling any day now. We better start working on getting this house baby proofed!

We took Jordan to the park for the first time! She was way more impressed with the swing than the slide. Her hair really is starting to come in, but unfortunately it's forming into a perfect baby mohawk.

Jordan had her first fever this month, which is not really fun to write about, just note worthy for us to remember the kind of month we had. The fever didn't last long, but Jordan just wasn't quite herself for about a week. We kept expecting to see more teeth, but we still only have those bottom two that popped up last month. We were finally glad to see her feeling more like herself!

On January 25, 2014, 2 days before our girl turned 7 months old, her TWO precious  cousins were born! We are so excited to welcome Payton and Parker into the family!

Things we don't want to forget:
- How sweet a smile is when your little girl hasn't been feeling well
- The intense way she reaches for her bottle and her spoon
- She loves to play in just her diaper before bedtime
- She has discovered her hands and likes to stare and examine them
- She can't sleep in her crib without her lovey now that we took away her paci

A Very Merry 1st Christmas (6 Months Old!)

We tend to keep this girl pretty busy and this month was no different. We celebrated both Thanksgiving and Christmas during the last month and had so much fun celebrating with Jordan. She is 6 months old and is now a master at sitting up, rolling over, and playing alone with her toys! Towards the end of this month she really started working on her scooting too. She'll be crawling in no time!

Jordan's first Thanksgiving was just a preview of what holidays could be like as a basketball coach's daughter...good ole' Luby's with 15 of Jordan's favorite basketball players in Corpus Christi! The things we will do to celebrate Thanksgiving as a family, I'm sure it won't be the last time either. Jordan didn't seem to mind and enjoyed hanging with her new friends and then watching daddy's team play. This was also our first experience with Jordan sleeping in a hotel...it didn't go so well at night, but what's new?! Night time screaming is our favorite!

When you don't sleep well at night, it's easy to sleep through Daddy's games.

Immediately after Thanksgiving, we took advantage of all of the cute Christmas outfits for Jordan's first Christmas and decorated Jordan's tree.

Our friend Laura took some family pictures for us to help us get ready for Christmas. Here are a few of our favorites even though Jordan was not in the mood for pictures.

Our first Christmas as a family of 3 was quite an adventure. We started with my friends' annual Christmas party. Oh, how these parties have changed now that we have these little party animals:

We then took an entire week to travel all over Texas and visit everyone in our family. I think Jordan saw almost everyone she is related to over the break.

Nothing like a good grandma to help you open your very first Christmas presents!

For her first Christmas, she got a wagon, a playroom and a new chair. Along with adorable clothes and way more toys than a 6 month old could need.

Our first experience with Santa was a success!

We had so much fun celebrating Christmas as a family of 3 and cannot wait to watch her grow and develop between now and next Christmas.

Things we don't want to forget:

- Jordan got her first teeth (one right after the other on the bottom in the middle) right before Christmas.
- Her little voice when she babbles
-She rolls everywhere..then scoots, and rolls again. Front to back, back to front
- Giggles...trying to capture them on film
-She's starting to like being thrown up in the air
-The smiles when one of us walks in the room
-Her mo-hawk
-This face :)
