Jordan: 4 Months

What a month it has been with this little nugget!

Yes, that's right it says that she is in the 94% in weight. What we forgot to put is that her head is in the 100 percentile. The doctor tells us she's smarter than 100% of the other little girls her age...I'm going to be that obnoxious parent and say he's right!

Jordan has definitely found her reflection. She may not know it is her yet, but you can usually get a smile out of her if her eye catches the mirror.

Have I mentioned before that this girl has FOMO (fear of missing out)? We noticed this because she would be asleep in the living room or stroller and the second we would talk about her she would peek her little eye out to see what we were talking about. She always wants to be up looking around at what is going on around the room. She finally found a place she can both play and check out her surroundings. It is so fun to watch her learn how to play on her own and how excited she gets when she makes things make noise.

Nani made us an outfit so we could show our support for Aunt Lissa and her Odessa volleyball team!

Jordan was so excited to celebrate her cousin Barrett's 2nd birthday! He had a Mickey Mouse party, so naturally Jordan dressed up as Minnie! I have a feeling Jordan and Barrett will be partners in crime over the next few years. Jordan will no longer be the baby of the extended family, so she'll need some big kid support. Ok - well she will only be 7 months older, but she will have two new cousins early 2014 when Parker and Payton Wilson make their appearance! We are exicted to add 2 more girls to Jordan's family!

She may not seem impressed, but she had a great time!

She can be quite the chatter box from time to time. I always wonder what is going on in that little head. (Or big head, I guess) She was definitely trying to tell her Poppy something here:

It is so fun to watch our parents love on and play with Jordan. We had fun with Gamma & Poppy and Grandpapa & Oma this month!

We are working on Jordan holding her own bottle. We want to make sure she's not the needy kid in school who can't feed herself and that she is her teachers' favorite already! Are we starting off on the wrong foot by setting such high expectations? Neh! We were so excited when we found out she could hold it on her own, it is fun to watch her do something developmentally that we didn't know she could do! We really enjoy sharing this little girl's every move, so Daddy was ready to send this picture out that second.
"She can hold her own bottle! Who should we tell?!"

We knew we had to take pictures this fall with Jordan and pumpkins, because apparently that's just what parents do. I feel like it's an obligation to go throw your kid in a field with pumpkins and take cliche pictures. Don't worry about the second picture making it obvious that we were on the side of the highway. We threw our daughter on the ground in between a fire station and a Valero where there were a total of 25 pumpkins and 4 hay bales scattered across a large empty field. Oh well, we still think they're cute!

Jordan has started to become so much fun, but the time in the morning is so rich! She wakes up so happy and ready to play every morning. It sure does make leaving for work so hard.
Just because we're trying to document everything, Jordan had her first cold this month. It looks like it led to a little ear infection. You never would have known anything was wrong except after one day of taking the antibiotics and she would not stop smiling. I guess next time we'll know if she's not smiling, something is wrong!I think our happy girl is feeling much better now!

And of course, the picture you've all been waiting for. Jordan Mudge in her Michael Jordan basketball jersey! There is nothing quite like a little basketball baby with rolls!

Some more classics from the month:

Things we don't want to forget:

- She is a drool machine this month! No teeth yet, but soon enough.
- Starting to chew on everything
- Her snuggles when she falls asleep on your shoulder after her middle of the night feeding or when she's really sleepy
- She loves watching football with mom and dad on Sundays!
- The feeling when she falls asleep in your arms
- The way she smiles when Daddy comes home
-Her sweet little voice when she's "talking"
-Her grip is insane! Always pulling on hair and even my mouth
-Always pulls up her shirt or dress so we can see that belly
- This girl is all smiles, I have a feeling this 4th month is going to be the best one yet!

and her first dance with her Daddy!

Jordan: 3 Months Old

I can’t start every blog with “I can’t believe it’s already been ___ months/years” so I’ll try to find another introduction each month. At 3 months, it is starting to feel more like, “I can’t believe I ever knew life without Jordan”. She is already such a part of our thoughts every single day that we can’t remember a time without her. She has captivated and stolen our hearts so quickly that we don’t even mourn our tv time, our sleep, or our movie date nights! I think I've put almost every picture I took this month in this blog,it's so hard to choose and since I'm in charge, I didn't. I decided to include them all!

Jordan’s third month has been full of new adventures! Of course, she’s 3 months old, so almost everything is a first.

Happy 3 Months Little One!

Developmentally, Jordan is picking up her head so high while on her tummy. I’m waiting for her to roll over any day now. She has found her hands and loves to chew on them any chance she gets. She has also started grabbing and holding on to her clothes, her toys, blankets, whatever is in arms reach. Our little girl isn't quite so little, she has been growing A LOT. I get a lot of stares and confusion when I tell people she is only 3 months old. What can I say, the girl eats well. Her chubby little cheeks are so precious though, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Check out those cheeks and lovable rolls!

In the beginning of month 3, it was time for Mommy to go back to work. We’ve done ok for one month in, but I’m not going to lie and say it has been easy. My friend told me it’s much easier to call it “school” then “day care” because then you feel like they’re away being educated and going to school is what all kids do. I like it, so I adopted it too! There are days that are really tough. She’s only 3 months old, but some days she seems to have grown from the time we drop her off to the time we pick her up. I’m so afraid to miss out on something that it makes long work days tough. But Jordan is doing great of course! She has teachers that take really good care of her and that is all we can ask for.

First day of school wore her out!

But we both survived day 1!
After a couple of weeks, Jordan had her first event at “school”. It was culture day and her classroom country was Mali, Africa. Here is a picture of Jordan in her outfit for culture day they made for her at school. It makes me giggle every time!

I love all of the faces we get to capture from Ms. Jordan.  We always try to capture her smile, but get these little gems instead.

Football season has begun, so obviously Chris and I had our first Aggie/Longhorn discussion about what Jordan would wear on the first Saturday of the season. Like any good marriage we compromised and had a wardrobe change after the afternoon A&M game and before the evening Longhorn game. However like any REALLY good marriage, the husband decided to give the wife what she wanted and Jordan wore Aggie gear the next two weekends! J

Jordan also made her first trip to College Station for an Aggie football weekend. She was pretty pumped up about the Alabama game and cried all night when it didn’t go our way. It was a fun weekend to catch up with her Gamma and Poppy as well as Aunt Alli, Uncle Matt, her sweet cousin Barrett and her Uncle Kyle who doesn't quite know what to do with her yet. (They're watching football!)
We also had a visitor from Nani the weekend Jordan turned 3 months old. It's always so fun to have visitors to come and love on our baby girl...also that are there so we can nap and have a mini date night.

Just some more of our favorite pictures from the month that we dont' want to forget!

Bath Time
Sweet Face!
She really hadn't been crying, just has watery eyes!

Things we don't want to forget:
- This girl LOVES her bath time
- The way she smiles with her entire body (makes it hard to photograph, always blurry)
- Those rolls, can never forget those rolls
- The way she looks up at her Daddy when he reads to her at night
- She responds to our voices and even smiles when we walk in the room
-When she gets "chatty". Love hearing the beginning of her little voice
- She will hold onto her ball with a serious death grip, even while napping
- She already loves to watch TV......Parents of the Year
- By 3 months, she's already wearing her 6 month clothes
- She still REALLY loves fans
