Jordan: 5 Months

This has been a month of new developments! I apologize ahead of time for the long post...we had a really busy month. I really should update this more than once a month. Jordan has definitely found her feet as you can tell in her 5 month picture below:

The day after she turned 4 months old, Jordan started rolling over and hasn't stopped. She refuses to lay on her back and will always roll over to her tummy to play with her toys or when I think she is napping. She also rolls herself over in the middle of the night then screams till one of us comes to fix it. It's quite exhausting!

This, of course, was the case before she knew she could sit up on her own. Now our little "FOMO" girl has to be up looking around to make sure she doesn't miss out on anything! She loves to sit up and play with her toys. This is one of the first pictures we got of her sitting up on her own (apparently it was a lot of work because we lost a sock in the process)!

Jordan's first Halloween started with a visit from her great grandPapa Fred and Grandma Susan. As much as I don't like Halloween (or tutus), I embraced it with the first halloween tutu and a lady bug outfit for our girl.

We cannot wait to meet J's two little precious cousins Parker and Payton! We were so happy to help Aunt Alli get prepared for her new arrivals at her 'Twice Blessed' baby shower! Below is a picture of all 6 of the Barrett girls. :)

And J showing off how strong her little legs are.
She also LOVES to be outside. It's not often that she gets worked up, but when she does a little trip outside usually does the trick. We get all bundled up to go outside and watch the rain or just make a play area in the backyard!

Playing outside at school

Once she started sitting and started reaching for our food we thought it was time to try a little rice cereal. I love out intently she stares and reaches for her cereal in this video. Girl after my own heart!

This is what happens sometimes when daddy is in charge of getting dressed. The design goes in the front, dad! Let me say that he does get her dressed every day for school and has only had a few mishaps so far.

Jordan loves to get all dressed up in orange to watch her daddy's basketball games. These are a few pictures of the first of many basketball games Jordan will attend.
Although it wasn't quite Thanksgiving yet, we all started getting in the Christmas spirit. She may not know how much she loves Christmas, but Jordan will soon learn. She helped put the first ornament on the tree this year! Even better it was her own Baby's First Christmas ornament! I am so excited to share the holidays with this little elf!

We also had a visit from Nani, Aunt Lissa and great grandma Linda. Linda came in town from Seattle and couldn't wait to get her hands on Jordan. We are so blessed by how loved our daughter is!

Things we don't want to forget:
- She loves peek-a-boo and "Where'd Jordan go?"
-Favorite song is 'This Little Light of Mine'
- Jordan gave us her first giggles
-She wants to put everything in her mouth and drools everywhere...but no teeth yet!
- She screeches and screams when she's hungry...this I may could forget
-Reaching for her toys and bottles
-Blowing bubbles ALL THE TIME!
- Still has never cried during a bath (knock on wood). She loves it!
-The way she stares at daddy when he reads her stories (you have no idea how hard it was to get this picture. She stares at the phone every time we try. Maybe I take too many pictures of her)

 More pictures we love!

Sleeping during daddy's game.
Going to be a great basketball companion

Jordan: 4 Months

What a month it has been with this little nugget!

Yes, that's right it says that she is in the 94% in weight. What we forgot to put is that her head is in the 100 percentile. The doctor tells us she's smarter than 100% of the other little girls her age...I'm going to be that obnoxious parent and say he's right!

Jordan has definitely found her reflection. She may not know it is her yet, but you can usually get a smile out of her if her eye catches the mirror.

Have I mentioned before that this girl has FOMO (fear of missing out)? We noticed this because she would be asleep in the living room or stroller and the second we would talk about her she would peek her little eye out to see what we were talking about. She always wants to be up looking around at what is going on around the room. She finally found a place she can both play and check out her surroundings. It is so fun to watch her learn how to play on her own and how excited she gets when she makes things make noise.

Nani made us an outfit so we could show our support for Aunt Lissa and her Odessa volleyball team!

Jordan was so excited to celebrate her cousin Barrett's 2nd birthday! He had a Mickey Mouse party, so naturally Jordan dressed up as Minnie! I have a feeling Jordan and Barrett will be partners in crime over the next few years. Jordan will no longer be the baby of the extended family, so she'll need some big kid support. Ok - well she will only be 7 months older, but she will have two new cousins early 2014 when Parker and Payton Wilson make their appearance! We are exicted to add 2 more girls to Jordan's family!

She may not seem impressed, but she had a great time!

She can be quite the chatter box from time to time. I always wonder what is going on in that little head. (Or big head, I guess) She was definitely trying to tell her Poppy something here:

It is so fun to watch our parents love on and play with Jordan. We had fun with Gamma & Poppy and Grandpapa & Oma this month!

We are working on Jordan holding her own bottle. We want to make sure she's not the needy kid in school who can't feed herself and that she is her teachers' favorite already! Are we starting off on the wrong foot by setting such high expectations? Neh! We were so excited when we found out she could hold it on her own, it is fun to watch her do something developmentally that we didn't know she could do! We really enjoy sharing this little girl's every move, so Daddy was ready to send this picture out that second.
"She can hold her own bottle! Who should we tell?!"

We knew we had to take pictures this fall with Jordan and pumpkins, because apparently that's just what parents do. I feel like it's an obligation to go throw your kid in a field with pumpkins and take cliche pictures. Don't worry about the second picture making it obvious that we were on the side of the highway. We threw our daughter on the ground in between a fire station and a Valero where there were a total of 25 pumpkins and 4 hay bales scattered across a large empty field. Oh well, we still think they're cute!

Jordan has started to become so much fun, but the time in the morning is so rich! She wakes up so happy and ready to play every morning. It sure does make leaving for work so hard.
Just because we're trying to document everything, Jordan had her first cold this month. It looks like it led to a little ear infection. You never would have known anything was wrong except after one day of taking the antibiotics and she would not stop smiling. I guess next time we'll know if she's not smiling, something is wrong!I think our happy girl is feeling much better now!

And of course, the picture you've all been waiting for. Jordan Mudge in her Michael Jordan basketball jersey! There is nothing quite like a little basketball baby with rolls!

Some more classics from the month:

Things we don't want to forget:

- She is a drool machine this month! No teeth yet, but soon enough.
- Starting to chew on everything
- Her snuggles when she falls asleep on your shoulder after her middle of the night feeding or when she's really sleepy
- She loves watching football with mom and dad on Sundays!
- The feeling when she falls asleep in your arms
- The way she smiles when Daddy comes home
-Her sweet little voice when she's "talking"
-Her grip is insane! Always pulling on hair and even my mouth
-Always pulls up her shirt or dress so we can see that belly
- This girl is all smiles, I have a feeling this 4th month is going to be the best one yet!

and her first dance with her Daddy!
